We spent a wonderful long weekend in Charlottesville to celebrate my cousin Michael's wedding to the beautiful Katherine. Zoe absolutely adored being a "little princess" flower girl, and told me I had to stay out of the photos because my dress didn't match the other princesses. I had the kids all to myself on the first night in the hotel after the rehearsal dinner, after I had the brilliant idea of cramming all five of us in grandpa's Honda. [O. M. G.] They did great in their first stay in a hotel since we stayed in one in Albuquerque on our last night in town when they were four and a half months old....even though airhead mommy forgot both their white noise machine (thank goodness for the A/C unit) and night light (praise god for the mini desk lamp!)
We transitioned into having "family showers" on this trip, which makes for a super quick and easy evening routine now. The kids are getting so big! Zoe discovered coconut shrimp and must have eaten a dozen of them when the waiters came around with them at the reception. Scott came in the afternoon of the wedding...and the kids were a big hit in their snazzy black tie outfits!
It'd be wild if either of them end up going to UVA.
Hugs thanks to the newlyweds for the honor of inviting Zoe and Caleb to be a part of your special day!
