Kidlets' first field trip

So excited getting ready! I chaperoned Zoe and Caleb's "threes" class at preschool to the Discovery Theater at the Smithsonian downtown to see a show by "urban artistry."
Oooohhh....so much to look at on the school bus! Caleb was confused by the emergency exit in the ceiling.  "Mommy, what's that for? Mommy, who goes in there? Mommy, will the bugs come in? Mommy, can I go up there?"
Our first ride on a school bus! They are just like I remember...cramped, stinky, and without A/C.  And on this 98 F day, that was NOT a fun memory.
Good little muffins sitting on the curb....until the lot of them decided to make a break for it in about a dozen directions. I was glad I wore a backpack filled with snacks and water, rather than carrying a diaper bag, and sneakers!
Waiting peacefully for the show.  Caleb didn't like how loud the sound ended up being, and spent the show on my lap (except for the 4 trips to the bathroom).  What's with the fixation on trying out every public bathroom in any place we go?
Dancing on stage! Zoe LOVED this part.
Snack time on the bus...and then a super big nap for everyone! I was as wiped out as the kids were.
