At a play date yesterday morning, another mom and I were reflecting with more than a little shock that after you have kids, you're incapable of having a coherent thought or conversation for more than 2 minutes. With the "mommy! mommy!" interruptions, or one's skilled eye seeing a potentially dangerous power cord/shiny choking hazard quarter/glass plate too close to the edge of the counter and the instant reaction to "respond to the threat," it is amazing that it's possible to think at all. I love our little monkeys running around all over the place, wrecking havoc! It's all the other stuff (shopping, laundry, clean up, ped appointments, meal planning, oh and working full time) that make me appreciate a little P & Q (Peace & Quiet) today.

Rainy Sunday morning
I'm up before everyone else today and it is unexpectedly pouring down rain. My soul is happy to have a little down time in our little condo for a change. It has been a crazy few weeks.

We've been discovering new parks on the weekends. This one in Arlington is enormous, and was a huge hit with the four different apparatus options to climb on.

Zoe is so big compared to other 2-year-old girls. At a Memorial Day BBQ at a our friend Susan & Paul's, their little girl Kate (age 3) and Zoe were exactly the same height and probably weight, too. But Zoe will always be a peanut next to Grandpa.
Grandpa! The kids LOVE Grandpa (and Lola, too, but I think they are particularly enamored with being held waaaaaay up high by 6'7" Grandpa).
The park had one of those zip line things that was clearly as much fun for daddy as for Zoe. She is a tough and strong little girl who likes to hang onto a bar, pull her knees up, and swing. It was much more fun hanging on to daddy for this quick ride though (and clearly Scott is having as much fun as she is)
