Making history

This morning, after "flipping" on her jacket (jacket upside down on the floor, hands in arm soockets, flip over head and voila!), Zoe announces "pee pee potty? pee pee potty?" Scott follows her into the bathroom and helps her to take off her jacket. I stepped in to help her take off her pants and diaper, and she sits delicately on the Spongebob kiddy seat on top of the toilet, and .... pees! On her own! Without being prompted! They are getting "acclimated" to the potty at day-care, but we haven't done anything more than make passing reference to the new kiddy seat and stool by the loo.

Yes, these are the things that get me excited these days. There isn't really anyone to share this momentous news with at the office, "Hey! Guess what! My kid peed in the toilet today!" isn't exactly water cooler conversation...and it particularly isn't good enough as an excuse for why I was late to work today.
