Easter

Caleb is showing off his birthday gift card from dad's parents -- thank you!

Zoe insisted that Gramma continue singing the "I'm a little teapot" song.
Happy!
Scott's parents were here for a visit over the past few days to see the cherry blossoms and spend some with the kiddos. Zoe and Caleb were enamored with their Easter baskets, especially the plastic wrapping over the top of them, and the belated Christmas present new toys that Gramma and Grandpa Al brought from cousin Gabriel in Wisconsin. The racing car set and Dora pinball machine are new favorites!

Easter was relatively low key this year. I put together Easter baskets with eggs filled with Little People and Sesame Street figurines, and Zoe and Caleb had a great time at friends Cody and Cassidy's house for an Easter egg hunt.

Only a few days shy of their second birthday, we are beginning to understand what people mean when they say the "terrible twos." Both Z & C can climb out of their cribs now, which they attempt only when they are royally annoyed at having been put to bed. We'll be making the transition to big kid beds pretty soon. Caleb has some intense tantrums, but they are typically triggered only when he is hungry, so we constantly have healthy snacks at the ready. But he goes from "little screamer" to "little dreamer" very quickly, easily distracted from his frustration and wanting to snuggle.

Zoe loves to eat! It's fantastic! I'm so glad not to have picky eaters. She adds, "okay?" to the end of almost every sentence, making Scott and I realize that we do the same. She'll say, "Zozee no poopoo, okay?" (trying to avoid a diaper change) or "Zozeee turn, boo-berry, okay?" (when she steals Caleb's berries). I had to laugh when they were bobbing up and down in the tub yesterday singing, "na na, na-nah! na na, na-nah! El-mo's worrrllll..." (the Elmo song).
