Warm at last!

Today was a gorgeous, 70 degree day which motivated me to take the kiddos on a 6 mile run in the double BOB, clean out the hall closet, and finally sit down at the computer to update this blog. Apologies for the crappy-weather, new-job, chronically-ill-kid induced delay.

Zoe and Caleb have definitely become little dictators -- insisting on snow boots over shoes (Caleb) and NO hair accessories now (Zoe), demanding "apple juice pleeeez" over water and "moon! book! moon! book! when they want a certain story. They say hello by name to each of the kids in their pre-pre-school class, and the teachers tell us that they share extremely well with each other (always ensuring that the other one has the same snack or drink that one is given) but that they can sometimes team up against the other kids, if backed into a corner. I can't say that bothers me too much...it's a tough world out there, right?

There aren't too many pictures. 2009 has brought colds and the stomach flu (twice) plus lots of cooped up and fusssy days inside, so I'll just post the reasonable ones....

Caleb has just about all of his baby teeth now, which is great as that means that he can eat everything that we do -- pizza, cheerios, and kiwi being common fare.
Zoe is more than capable of using a fork and spoon, but loves to squish things in her hands. She has a hard time saying "Caleb" though, so he has become "Cable" to her.
Look at all that hair!
Will, Caleb's godfather, and his girlfriend Kim came over in February. We also had a chance to go out for dinner and dessert with them, which was fantastic. Plus it was Restaurant Week in DC, so a 3-course-swanky meal was only $30.08/person. I had forgotten what it was like to have adults only conversation, not focused on kid topics!
Caleb likes snuggles, and hugging his sister. We get our diapers delivered (it's cheaper to buy in bulk) and they like to play night-night in the box with pillows and their blankets, with Caleb protective of his sister and making sure she is there with him all the time.
