How did this happen? Zoe and Caleb are THREE. Three. Threeeeeeee.
Lola and Granpa came out, and S and I did what some would call a parental cop out, and others a parental life saver: a indoor play-place party. There were two super chipper college coeds to organize activities and hand out snacks (which I bought at Giant 2 hours before the party...) so S and I could mingle with some friends that we never get to see (given we all have kids, work full time, and can only afford houses way out in suburbs or exurbs given the do-gooder or public service jobs we all have). Lola and Grandpa came in from CT - thank you! yeah, baby. CUPCAKES ROCK!! (a homemade, family effort: mommy bake, lola ice, daddy add sprinkles, granpa transfer to the car...all within an hour of the party starting...)
Zoe and Caleb have never been the total and complete center of attention before, with this many people. This pic was during the happy birthday song, with about 20 of their friends and twice as many parents. I have a death grib on Caleb's hand, as he was either trying to touch the candles or blow them out with his party favor toy.
Great seeing you JamieNicoleHeatherJasonPaulEricShannon...our Dora and Diego theme was well received....we gnoshed on snacks we all can love...Monkey Business indoor playground was a total hit.
GretaAvaZoeMorgan and an old school jungle gym. Remember when these were made of metal, ten times the size, devoid of any padding and out in the summer sun all day long at the playground, anchored in cement of course?
yeeeeaaaaaahhhhhhh!
"it's my birthday and I'll do what I want to!"
