A good friend was able to secure us tickets to the National Christmas Tree Lighting on the Ellipse, near the White House. December 3 was a relatively clear day, but windy! 
Z&C really liked the music (Sheryl Crow and others played live) and Santa's arrival. They weren't as excited about the First Lady reading a Christmas story, preferring to flirt with all the other people around us and dump Cheerios in the mud.

My coy little angel.It was my first attempt at getting the kids in to the city from Arlington on the metro by myself. I had one in a stroller and one by the hand, which worked out well enough until we neither of them wanted to walk or be in the stroller...
