11 months on St. Patrick's Day!

I had to work in NYC last week on Thursday and Friday, so on a whim, we loaded up the kids on Wednesday afternoon and made the trek out to visit Lola and Grandpa in Connecticut. The ride out was basically uneventful, though we were again reminded that the kids are very unhappy in their car seats, given how big they have gotten! They enjoyed the walks to Baker's Field and the Noroton Pres. playground, where mommy and Tita Sara played as kids, and flirting with the waitresses at the Sugar Bowl.
What was shaping up to be a mellow weekend turned sour in the wee hours of the morning when Zoe got sick all over her crib. She seemed to have settled down enough for us to think it would be a good idea to brave the drive back to DC on Sunday. We made tons of new friends at the Cracker Barrel somewhere in Delaware when Caleb decided to lose his lunch all over the table just as daddy's chicken dinner arrived, and then again all over the car, and then again all over mommy multiple times...you get the idea. Poor little babies!
They are doing much better and we were reassured by the pediatrician that it will run its course soon enough. We learned that Zoe is 18 lbs 6.5 oz. (25th percentile) at the clinic this morning, and Caleb outweighs her by nearly 5 lbs at 22 lbs 11 oz. (75th percentile). No wonder she cries when he sits on her!!
The trees are budding (but I am such a city girl I'd be lying if I told you what they are...plum? pear? I just know they're pink...), the crocuses are poking out, and I am so ready to hang up my long wool station coat for the last time this season!

Here is an old pic from June 2007, and one of Caleb's first "on camera" smiles
Tons more hair and getting so big!

Lola and Caleb with the magical wind chimes...one of the best parts of going to the grandparents' house
Hello angel!
The boys are very serious in the delicate job of baby nail clipping
Zoe goofing off! The hat matches an adorable little sweater that Lola bought in CT, hand made by someone with more talent than me who can actually knit...
Caleb just loves lying down in the wagon....he coos and makes his happy noises, and likes to watch the trees sway in the breeze and the clouds float past. We prefer him lying down as well, as when he's up, he's putting teeth marks in the wood.
