DC pics from September

We live about a 5 minute walk from the metro and shops and restaurants, which I love, but the traffic noise and pollution took a little getting used to. There have been a few tense moments as Scott and I stand there horror-stricken as a fire engine screeches by just as we get both babies down for the night! But we are also a 15 minute walk to the National Zoo, and my commute into work takes less than 30 minutes door-to-door.

Work has been fantastic so far, as I enter my fifth week. It is a dynamic, motivated small team environment, and my first week started off with an off-site strategy retreat at a cute boutique hotel in Old Town Alexandria. I spent my first ever night away from the babies while in WA state for work for a week, and Scott had them all to himself. I also got to see good friends Renata and Darren and their 14-month old, Dante and Leah and her new, 10-week old little girl, Denali. The only challenge was getting up at 3:15 am to make my flight home...so much easier after the routine of middle of the night feedings, though.

First day in DC: nothing in the nursery except a crib from (Great) Tito Bert and Tita Tammy. It took about a week for our furniture to arrive.
Total chaos after our stuff arrives! The movers packed the bed hardware separately from the bedroom furniture, so I had to open every box before finding it (so we slept on the mattresses for a while...)
Chilling out before bed
Escaping the mess...
Happy to be going outside!!

I love these cute pj's with the little animal feet
Here are Zoe's with little bunnies!
